Denise Kreuzer Zarrinabadi of Austin, Texas, previously of Alvin, Texas, passed away in hospice care on June 19, 2019 after four years of having cancer. Denise was a positive person who loved life. She grew up in Alvin and graduated from Alvin High School in 1975. She was a member of the Yellowjacket marching band and her family enjoyed trying to keep up with her marching all over the football field. After high school, Denise moved to Austin, Texas. She worked as a Payroll Manager and was very passionate and vocal about having her team of employees treated fairly.   She could be counted on to bring several pans of jalapeno cheese squares to all office gatherings!

Denise had a big heart for animals. She was active in helping find qualified adoptive homes for unwanted or neglected Siberian Huskies, and in educating the public about responsible pet ownership and the special qualities of the Husky breed. Denise supported Texas 4000, whose cornerstone event is a 4000+ mile bike ride from Austin to Anchorage, and whose mission is to cultivate student leaders and engage communities in creating a cancer free future.

Denise was a huge football fan, and enjoyed competing (and especially winning!!) in fantasy football leagues. She was also a big fan of IndyCar racing and enjoyed cheering on her favorite drivers.

Denise was preceded in death by her father, George Dennis Kreuzer of Alvin, Texas, and is survived by her husband, Farid Zarrinabadi of Austin, Texas; her mother, Joan Orsak of Friendswood, Texas; her sister, Ann Venable of Richmond, Texas; nephew Jonathan Corn of Richmond, Texas; and nieces Cara Green of Houston, Texas, Amy Green of Spring, Texas, and Emily Allison of Rosenberg, Texas. She also leaves behind her devoted Husky, Charlina.

A funeral mass will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 101 E. South Street, Alvin, Texas on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at the Manvel Cemetery.
