TRESSIE MARIE ARNING, 56, of Angleton, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Angleton Danbury Medical Center in Angleton, Texas. Tressie was born on November 13, 1955 in Oak Grove, Louisiana to parents, Alvin Lee King and Angie Hales King Potts.

She had been a resident in Alvin, Texas for years, then moved to Angleton, Texas to Cypress Woods Care Center to be closer to family that could see to her needs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Arning; her parents; stepfather, Olen Potts; and stepsisters Jacqueline Potts, Geraldine Potts and Donna Potts Sylvester.

Tressie is survived by her daughter, Starlet Kay Rodgers of Alvarado, Texas; her son, Jeremy Wayne Stevens of New York City, New York; brother, James A. King and wife, Carolyn of Angleton, Texas; grandchildren: Dylon Rodgers, Brandon Rodgers of Alvarado, Texas, and Samantha Rodgers of Huntsville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

She was a kind, loving and caring person who would go out of her way to help others. This past year had been a long and hard struggle with double leg amputee and serious health issues. Now her Lord has called her home where loved ones have met her into eternity and where she can now run on streets of gold.

She will be laid to rest next to her mother in Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin, Texas.
